Sean Whalen, MD
Dr. Sean Whalen was born on the United States Naval Base in Yokosuka, Japan and raised in idyllic upstate New York. He received his Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Biological Sciences, while minoring in Chemistry, from California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Whalen received his MD from the University of California, Irvine and completed his residency at the University of Southern California.Dr. Whalen has helped many patients in his clinics on both coasts achieve a more active vibrant lifestyle while experiencing less pain from osteoarthritis. His goal is to empower patients to prevent the debilitating processes of injury and aging, while avoiding invasive interventions such as surgery.
Tyler Anderson, RPA
An Army veteran originally from Montana, Tyler comes to Flexogenix® from the Phoenix-Metro area, where he worked as a mid-level provider at a large cancer treatment center. He received advanced training in various facilities in Phoenix including a community hospital, a level-one trauma center and an oncology center. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Weber State University, Tyler began studies at Arizona State University to attain a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He enjoys hiking, fishing and playing the guitar in his spare time. Having called nine other states home before making the move to North Carolina, Tyler hopes to put down roots here and raise his young daughter alongside his wife.
Lucas Araujo, RRA
Originally from northern California, Lucas chose a change in climate and moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he spent more than ten years building a thorough knowledge of radiology while working in a trauma center. He received an undergraduate degree in Medical Therapy and Diagnostic Imaging from Northern Arizona University and also instructed X-ray for several years. Desiring to have a more direct therapeutic impact on patient care, Lucas earned a Master’s degree in Radiologic Science and became a board certified Radiologist Assistant. Having trained in a large Phoenix hospital, Lucas is extensively skilled in a wide variety of radiologic procedures. In his spare time Lucas enjoys the outdoors and a good round of golf.
Jason Leymeister, RPA
Born is Pennsylvania, Jason moved to North Carolina over 18 years ago to start his professional career in radiology. After obtaining his BS from Misericordia University he continued his quest for higher education at UNC Chapel Hill where he obtained his RRA/RPA certification and MS degree. His work and educational / experiences have ranged from small rural hospitals to large universities such as UNC and Duke. After an 8 year absence from this area, Jason has now returned to raise his family in what he feels is one of the best areas to do so in all of the United States. He is happy and eager to serve the people of the Triangle and its surrounding areas.
Leah Hackman, RN
Born and raised in Decatur, Indiana. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2010, she began her career at a physical rehabilitation facility. She then moved to North Carolina in 2012 for a change in scenery and increase in job opportunities. Since the move, she has worked as a medical oncology nurse. Leah is committed to working with patients in reviewing treatment options to help them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Ann Elsasser, DPT
Ann Elsasser grew up in Frederick, MD and then attended the University of Pittsburgh where she received her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2013. She has been working as a traveling therapist in both North Carolina and Washington over the past two years, gaining experience in various settings. Ann is committed to providing compassionate patient care while utilizing the latest evidence-based techniques. She looks forward to helping you reach your goals and get back to an active lifestyle.
