Sean Whalen, MD

Sean WhalenDr. Sean Whalen was born on the United States Naval Base in Yokosuka, Japan and raised in idyllic upstate New York. He received his Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Biological Sciences, while minoring in Chemistry, from California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Whalen received his MD from the University of California, Irvine and completed his residency at the University of Southern California.Dr. Whalen has helped many patients in his clinics on both coasts achieve a more active vibrant lifestyle while experiencing less pain from osteoarthritis. His goal is to empower patients to prevent the debilitating processes of injury and aging, while avoiding invasive interventions such as surgery.

Kristen Schuerle, DO

Kristen SchuerleDr. Kristen Schuerle was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in a local suburb. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Duquense University in Psychology with a minor in Biochemistry. She received her DO from The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009. Upon completion of medical school, Dr. Schuerle completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2013 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Schuerle then moved to the West Coast with her daughter and husband where she enjoys biking, yoga, going to the beach with her family and traveling. She has particular interests in coaching patients to promote healthier lifestyles and optimizing physical function. Her expertise includes nonsurgical management of joint pain, exercise prescription and wellness management.

Megan Steele, DPT

Tony LiuMegan Steele was born and raised in Tucson, AZ where she received her Bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University in Exercise Science. She returned to Tucson and worked as an Exercise Physiologist at Tucson Medical Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program. Megan then received her Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from California University of Pennsylvania. In 2010, Megan moved to Los Angeles to attend Mount Saint Mary’s University, where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Last year she completed a 10 month course in orthopedics. She has worked in multiple different settings including inpatient, outpatient orthopedics and home care.

Stephanie Labog, RN

Stephanie LabogStephanie was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where she received her degree in Nursing from Mount Saint Mary’s University. Her passion for orthopedics began when she volunteered at off site clinics and hospitals, which specialized in helping individuals obtain optimal health. She is dedicated to inspire, educate and help individuals to live a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle. Stephanie is committed to being a lifelong learner by continuing her education and being a part of the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses. She enjoys traveling to different countries to learn and experience new cultures and languages.

Iris Chen, RRA, RPA

Iris ChenBorn and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Iris Chen makes her home in exciting downtown Los Angeles. Iris is a board certified Radiology Practitioner Assistant and is one of the first people on our team that you will meet. She is highly skilled in assessing your condition and determining the most appropriate therapy. Iris is fluent in English and Mandarin.
Not only will Iris assist in obtaining a complete history and physical, she will counsel and guide you through the process of establishing the most optimal plan of care. Her attention to detail and compassionate nature will make you feel right at home while you are introduced to the Flexogenix® approach.

Brad Jenkins, RRA, RPA

Brad JenkinsBrad Jenkins is a board certified Radiology Practitioner Assistant. Originally from rural North Carolina, Brad comes to LA via Washington, DC where he trained and lived for 5 years. Brad is grateful for the opportunity to provide a less invasive treatment for our patients and loves seeing their smiling faces as their condition improves.

Matthew L. Eveler, RRA, RPA

Doctor Matthew L. Eveler – RRA, RPA was born and raised in Southern CA. He received his Masters of Science in Radiologist Assistant from Loma Linda University in 2006. He has 19 years of clinical Radiology experience, with the last 10 years being dedicated to the practices of Radiologist Assistant: performing non-invasive and invasive radiological imaging procedures. He is passionate about providing patients with the highest level of patient care and being an advocate of Flexogenix’s non-surgical approach of articular joint therapy that supports an active lifestyle. He also enjoys an active lifestyle consisting of mountain biking, playing soccer and camping adventures with his wife and three kids.

Kay Thompson, PA-C

Kay ThompsonKay Nguyen PA-C was born and raised in California. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley in Integrative Biology where she was a research assistant in adipocyte cell differentiation at Sul Laboratories. She received her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from University of Texas, Medical Branch in 2015 where she developed a passion for treating osteoarthritis when serving veterans. Her experience in pediatric orthopedic surgery has given her a unique perspective on bracing, surgery and musculoskeletal function. She really loves following her patients throughout their treatment as they are improving and getting back to enjoyable activities. In her spare time, she loves cooking, hiking and doing yoga.

Martin Eres, PT, DPT, ATC

Doctor
Martin Eres was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of the Pacific in Sport Sciences. While attending Pacific, Martin worked as a student athletic trainer with the sports teams and after graduation passed the National Athletic Training Board Exam. He moved to Southern California to attend Loma Linda University where he earned his Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. Martin enjoys working in the outpatient orthopedic setting assisting patients in reducing their pain and improving function.
