Tom Howard, MD
Dr. Howard earned his undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY and served 5 years in the Army as an engineer officer. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences School of Medicine and completed a residency in Family Practice at DeWitt Army Community Hospital in 1987 and a primary care sports fellowship at the USUHS and Nirschl Orthopedic Sports Clinic in Arlington, VA in 1996. He retired from the Army in 2004 after 29 years of service. After retiring he practiced at Fairfax Family Practice in Virginia as Program Director for a Sports Medicine Fellowship and a busy sports clinician, where he developed a comprehensive program for diagnostic musculoskeletal sonography and regenerative medicine. He left northern Virginia and joined NC State Student Health in February 2015. Dr. Howard is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and holds the RMSK credential for musculoskeletal ultrasound from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Michael Coleman, RA
Michael Coleman, began his career in eastern Tennessee, gaining experience in diagnostic and interventional Radiology at a level 1 Trauma Center. In 2000, he attended Weber State University obtaining his RPA certification. Over the past 16 years he has practiced as an RPA performing a wide variety of interventional and therapeutic procedures. Mike spends his free time in the outdoors, mountain biking, motorcycling, and enjoying time with his children.
Amber Price, RA
Amber graduated with highest honors from Emory University, minoring in MRI. In 2012, she earned a Master of Radiologic Science degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was honored with an “outstanding student award” by the faculty. Amber is a Georgia native with almost 20 years of radiology experience with advanced registries in CT and MRI. She comes to us by way of Dallas, Texas where she worked as a Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA)
Felicity McDevitt, RN
Born in Oregon, raised in Seattle. Moved to NC to raise her family, Tallulah, 5 and Harper, who is 3. She is happily married to Bradley who was raised in Durham. Bradley is also in the health and fitness arena and is an exercise trainer. Felicity has been an RN for 20 years with a background in case management and preventative care with an emphasis on fitness, nutrition and practical patient education. She is one of the first people you will meet on our team and is highly qualified to help guide you to the best treatments available for your particular joint problem. She is passionate about carefully listening to your concerns and helping you feel well again. She is here for you and any questions you have; she is a personable, accessible person. She is an invaluable part of our team.
Sarah VanDyke, DPT
Sarah VanDyke moved from Southwestern Virginia to North Carolina in 2011 to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Elon University. Before deciding to further her education, she used her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science to work in various wellness settings including cardiac rehabilitation, and yoga and Pilates group exercise classes. Sarah believes in treating her patients from a holistic approach and is excited to incorporate her previous experience with new physical therapy techniques for the optimal patient care experience.
